SPIRIT IN BLACK

SPIRIT IN BLACK is our modern take on the classic bock. Dark, malty and full of flavour, but with a fresh American twist.

A solid malt backbone brings notes of toasted bread, caramel and dark malt, with a subtle hint of chocolate. Chinook and Simcoe add light citrus, pine and resinous notes, keeping the beer fresh and surprisingly drinkable.

Dark beer. American attitude.

WHY SPIRIT IN BLACK EXISTS
We love bock. We just had no interest in brewing the exact same bock as everyone else. SPIRIT IN BLACK keeps the dark, malty character of the style, then gives it a fresh American kick with Chinook and Simcoe.

Spirit in Black

Spirit in Black · Slayer

The name comes from Slayer’s “Spirit in Black”, released on the 1990 album Seasons in the Abyss. That record — and this track in particular — helped shape our taste in music. Back then, we were fifteen-year-old kids organising skate demos, entering contests and finding our place in the local skate scene. Thirty-six years later, the record still hits, and those days are still part of who we are.

The title fits this beer perfectly. It is dark and full of malt character, but never buried under sweetness. The finish is dry, fresh and lightly bitter — like a spirit moving through the black of night.
